If you want to ride a beach that cars can't reach, Coast eBike Adventures takes you off Amelia Island to Big Talbot and Little Talbot Islands, just across the bridge to the south. The company is clear that this isn't a rental counter. You book a self-guided Barrier Islands Adventure, and the crew trailers fat-tire eBikes to the start, sets you up, explains the route and sends you off at your own pace.

The operator's tour page lists the meeting spot as the Sawpit Creek Boat Ramp, just to the right after you cross the bridge from Amelia Island on A1A, and they cover the park parking passes. The ride links the paved Timucuan Trail, which Florida State Parks lists at 3.9 miles alongside A1A, with Dune Ridge Trail, a roughly two-mile off-road stretch the company rates as beginner but close to intermediate in spots. Dune Ridge comes out at the north tip of Little Talbot Island, where you ride the firm sand. That's why start times follow low tide.

Before you book:

  • Adventures run up to four hours, with a two-person minimum.
  • The bikes are 750-watt RadRover fat-tires in three frame styles, fitting riders from 4 feet 10 inches tall and up.
  • You should be comfortable on a regular bike and able to hold a heavier eBike steady when you stop.
  • A helmet, cargo basket and small cooler with an ice pack, water and a snack come with each bike.
  • The company suggests sunscreen, a towel and a swimsuit if you might want to cool off in the water.

Groups are kept small on purpose, and the site also mentions private guided tours booked by phone at 904-474-2707 (texts are welcome). If the beach is the draw, read up on Little Talbot Island State Park and Boneyard Beach on Big Talbot before you go. For a cruiser you can keep all week on Amelia itself, Bike Amelia delivers to your rental.
