A quieter beach known for excellent fishing and softer sand with fewer shells. Features restrooms, indoor and outdoor shower facilities, and paved parking. Four-wheel-drive vehicles can access the beach via Peters Point Road adjacent to the park. A peaceful alternative to the busier Main Beach.

Located just south of Peters Point, Scott Road offers paved parking and vehicle beach access but no restrooms or amenities. Along with Peters Point, it is one of only two vehicular beach access points on Amelia Island. A 4WD vehicle is strongly recommended for navigating the sand.

Offers a large free parking lot, restrooms with showers, outdoor showers, picnic tables, and lifeguard towers staffed from Memorial Day through Labor Day. American Beach

American Beach

A historic African-American beach community founded in 1935 by Abraham Lincoln Lewis, Florida's first Black millionaire, and the Afro-American Life Insurance Company. During segregation it was one of the few Southeast beaches accessible to Black families, drawing over 10,000 visitors a day at its peak. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Fort Clinch State Park Beaches

Fort Clinch State Park offers over a mile of pristine, uncrowded Atlantic-facing beach along with a Cumberland Sound shoreline popular for surf fishing, shark-tooth hunting, and shelling. The beach sits within the 1,400-acre park, which also features nature trails, camping, and the historic fort. Park open 8 a.m. to sunset daily; $6 per vehicle entry fee.

One of the few beaches in Florida where horseback riding is permitted. Located at the southern tip of Amelia Island at Nassau Sound, the park features pristine shoreline, salt marshes, and maritime forest. Kelly Seahorse Ranch offers guided beach rides. Admission is $2 per person via honor box. Also a popular spot for fishing, birding, and nature walks.

Famous for the dramatic salt-washed skeletons of live oak and cedar trees that line the shore, Boneyard Beach is one of Northeast Florida's most photographed natural landmarks. The beach is reached via a short trail from the Blackrock Trail parking area. The 1,675-acre park also offers kayaking, hiking, and birding. Located just south of Amelia Island.

Five miles of pristine, undeveloped Atlantic beach backed by coastal hammock, salt marshes, and sand dunes. A top pick for surfing, shelling, and solitude.
