If you need a hostess gift or something for the kitchen with a vintage feel, Hudson & Perry is a home goods and gift shop at 319 Centre Street in downtown Fernandina Beach. Ashlie, an Amelia Island native, opened it in 2016 after years of living in New York's West Village, and she named it after two cross streets near her old apartment there. Her goal, as the shop's About page tells it, was to give her hometown something different from the usual coastal beach-town store by mixing her love of the South with her love of the North.
On the shelves, that means vintage-inspired housewares and small gifts. Items recently listed on the shop's website include:
- Enamel mugs, serving trays and floral plates
- Tea towels printed with vintage state designs
- Recipe boxes and bicycle bookends
- Citronella candles for the porch
- Vintage-style puzzles
The shop also sells online at hudsonandperry.com, which is handy if you spot something on a trip and want another one after you've gone home. Its Facebook page notes that curbside pickup is available.
