The Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach Tree Lighting is the moment the island's holiday season officially starts. The downtown tree is lit alongside thousands of twinkling white lights strung through the historic district, which stay up from late November into January.
Good to know
The lighting is free and family-oriented, and it sets up the run of holiday events that follows — the Lighted Christmas Parade, the Museum of History's Holiday Home Tour, Dickens on Centre, and the New Year's Eve Shrimp Drop.
