Dickens on Centre transforms historic downtown Fernandina Beach into a Victorian-era Christmas village each December. The 2026 festival runs December 10–13 along Centre Street, with the whole district dressed for the holidays.
What to expect
Costumed Dickens characters roam the streets alongside holiday entertainment, carolers, seasonal shopping and food and drink, Tiny Tim's Kids Zone, and visits with St. Nick. The companion "Run Like the Dickens" race is held that Saturday at Main Beach for anyone who wants to start the day moving.
Good to know
The festival is free to attend, with some ticketed add-on activities. It's one of the island's signature holiday traditions and a favorite weekend for families and returning second-home owners alike.
