You'll find Lori + Lulu (styled lori+lulu on its website) at 213 Centre Street, a women's specialty clothing shop that sums up its look as laid-back, luxury, lifestyle. It's the first boutique Lori opened after she settled in Fernandina Beach, a town her family has ties to going back generations. The founder story on her sister store's site says her retail career started at Nordstrom in the 1970s and that she earned a fashion merchandising degree at Florida State. Today lori+lulu has a second location in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The labels posted on the shop's home page:

  • Johnny Was
  • Nic+Zoe
  • Hale Bob
  • Dylan
  • Liverpool
  • Lysse
  • Tolani
  • Vilagallo

If you like those names but want something dressier and more Southern resort in feel, Lori later opened Pearl at 503-B Centre to fill exactly that gap, so the two shops are worth comparing on the same afternoon. They're about three blocks apart.

The store is in the 200 block, on the opposite side of the street from JJ Cooper and Olive Amelia, which helps if someone in your party wants a different kind of stop while you browse. It keeps longer hours on Friday and Saturday evenings than the rest of the week; the current schedule is on lorilulu.com.

The shop's E-Club mailing list sends notice of promotions, store events and new arrivals, and it asks for your birth month so it can send a treat. Since the site doesn't post inventory, a quick call to (904) 310-9507 is the way to ask whether a particular brand or size is in.
