If you want a tasting menu on Amelia Island, David's Restaurant & Lounge at 802 Ash Street now serves one every night it's open. Executive Chef and owner David Echeverri, who was born in Miami and raised in Medellín, has run David's since 2012, and the restaurant lists the AAA Four Diamond Award among its honors. His cooking leans on his Colombian heritage and South American flavors. The signature dish he describes on the site is grilled octopus with homemade chimichurri, sweet plantain bacon cheese croquettes and chorizo chipotle crema.
The restaurant's events page lays out three ways to eat beyond the regular menu:
- A five-course tasting menu, with an optional wine pairing, is offered every evening through January 31, 2027.
- The Monthly Chef's Tasting, on the first Thursday of each month, seats no more than 13 guests in the private Wine Room. The five courses come with wine, the menu never repeats, and reservations are required.
- Brunch runs once a month on a Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., à la carte and built around whatever the chef is working on.
The main dining room serves dinner from 5 to 9 p.m., the D Lounge runs a happy hour Sunday through Thursday, and David's closes every Tuesday. The regular menu is grouped into sections named Ice, Wind, Fifth Element, Fire and Water. Reservations go through OpenTable, and there's a dress code: business casual or resort wear, with no flip-flops or athletic wear.
Kitchen 251 is a block away at Beech and 8th, and Burlingame is three blocks toward the river. Since the Wine Room tasting caps at 13 seats, booking it early matters if it's the centerpiece of a trip.
