Right Whale Festival 2026
A free family festival at Main Beach, November 7–8, 2026, celebrating the return of endangered North Atlantic right whales to Northeast Florida — live music, food trucks, marine exhibits, and kids' activities.
Each November, the Right Whale Festival celebrates the seasonal return of the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale to the calving waters off Northeast Florida — one of the last places on Earth these whales come to give birth. The 2026 festival is held at Main Beach Park in Fernandina Beach on November 7–8.
What to expect
It's a free, family-friendly day of live music, food trucks, marine-life and conservation exhibits, local art and craft vendors, and hands-on kids' activities — all built around learning about the whales and the effort to protect a population of only around 370 animals.
Good to know
Admission is free. The festival runs Saturday and Sunday at Main Beach Park, an easy stop for anyone on the island that weekend.
