Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival 2027
2027 dates to be announced — estimated the first weekend of May (based on the festival's usual pattern; confirm on shrimpfestival.com). Amelia Island's biggest event: three days of local wild-caught shrimp, 300+ artists, live music, a pirate invasion, and fireworks over the Amelia River in historic downtown Fernandina Beach.
Note: the exact 2027 dates have not been officially announced yet. The Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival is traditionally held the first weekend of May, so early May 2027 is our best estimate — please confirm on the official site before making plans.
The Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival is the largest and most beloved event on Amelia Island, drawing well over 100,000 visitors to historic downtown Fernandina Beach across three days each spring. It celebrates the town's heritage as a birthplace of the modern shrimping industry.
What to expect
Expect fresh local wild-caught shrimp prepared by local non-profit vendors, more than 300 juried artists and craftspeople, live music on multiple stages, a kick-off parade, the pirate invasion, the Blessing of the Fleet, and fireworks over the harbor.
